The Cabinet Office has issued a final reminder to hauliers ahead of the changes to the Goods Vehicle Moving Service (GVMS) coming into effect from 1 January 2022.
From 1 January, hauliers will need to use the Goods Vehicle Moving Service to transport any goods through a UK port that also uses the service. Currently, the service only applies if goods are moving under the Common Transit Convention.
The GVMS requires hauliers to be registered in advance of travelling. Hauliers are being encouraged to register in advance of the system coming into effect, and can do so online.
