Milence, the joint venture between Daimler Truck, TRATON GROUP, and Volvo Group, has officially launched its first UK public charging hub in Immingham.
Phase one of the Immingham hub, situated on the A180, has four high-performance CCS chargers, providing access to eight charging bays and offering a power output of up to 400kW.
Designed to be a place for trucks and drivers to recharge, the site features secure, fenced parking, access control, camera surveillance, and essential amenities such as restrooms and vending machines.
Innovate UK has confirmed the locations for a new network of 54 electric HGV charging hubs that will be rolled out across the UK.
Each of the hubs is being led by one of the four flagship project partnerships which form the Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator (ZEHID) programme: Project Electric Freightway, eFREIGHT2030, ZENFreight and HyHAUL.
The ZEHID programme is backed by circa £200m in funding from the Department for Transport and delivered in partnership with Innovate UK. The programme will also fund and support over 70 public and depot-based infrastructure installations by 2030.
