The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sajid Javid, has announced he is planning to hold a Budget on Wednesday 6 November 2019.
This Budget has been scheduled on the assumption that the UK will leave the EU with a deal on 31 October. In the event of no deal, the Government has stated that it will delay the Budget by several weeks and set out the additional actions it plans to take to support the economy, businesses and households.
Ahead of the Budget, the BVRLA has called for the Chancellor to support fleets. The association has focused predominantly on tax and incentive measures that could support the industry. These include requests for continued support for the Plug in Car and Van Grants until 2025, delivering more clarity on Company Car Tax bands beyond 2023, providing greater granularity for VED bands and removing the £320 VED surcharge for EVs.
