BVRLA champions industry at Conservative Conference

The BVRLA was in Birmingham last week to discuss the value of the rental and leasing industry, and the challenges it is facing, at the Conservative Party Conference.

The Conference itself was focused on the four leadership candidates and their campaigns. The association’s Director of Policy and Public Affairs, Thomas McLennan, spoke with Shadow Transport Minister, Greg Smith MP, and Shadow Business Secretary Kevin Hollinrake MP. He also quizzed Shadow Treasury Minister, Gareth Davies MP about the extension on full expensing and discussed the Fleet Friendly Charging Pledge with councillors.

Although the election has significantly reduced the number of current Conservative MPs, the BVRLA remains committed to working with the opposition parties as well as backbench Labour MPs as the campaign for change in the rental and leasing industry continues.

Here’s three ways to support the current campaign work:

  • Write to your MP – with the Budget only a few weeks away this is an important action you can take to support Budget and used EV calls for action.
  • Arrange a site visit for your local MP – by signing up to become an Industry Champion. The association can guide you step by step through the process of arranging a visit.
  • Join the Campaign Working Group– the BVRLA’s member led working group meets quarterly to help shape and advise on campaign work. Email [email protected] to express an interest.
