The BVRLA’s Regulation and Compliance Working Group will be meeting on Thursday 8 August. This meeting will focus on shaping a consultation response to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)'s review of Discretionary Commission Arrangement (DCA)s in relation to Motor Finance, and its recent proposal to extend the temporary pause on complaint handling relating to DCAs to December 2025.
The consultation paper can be found on the FCA website: CP24/15 – submit a view to the BVRLA by 14 August 2024.
The meeting will also outline other consultations that the BVRLA is seeking member input on:
- CMA consultation on administrative penalties - by 14 August 2024
- DBT consultation about the Digital Markets and Consumer Credit Act - by 30 August 2024
- CMA consultation on the Digital Markets and Consumer Credit Act - by 30 August 2024
- FCA Call for Input following the introduction of the Consumer Duty - by 20 September 2024.
Members should consider the deadlines on these consultations and whether they wish to submit a view to be included in the BVRLA response.
