Members who are due to have an audit this year can expect to receive a letter from the association’s Compliance Team shortly, confirming details about the visit and what will be involved.
Over 250 new and existing member audits took place during 2022.
Rental members may be selected for an announced or unannounced visit. If selected for an unannounced visit, the auditor will not schedule a date with the member and can show up without notice. Rental visits should take no longer than two to three hours and will inconvenience members’ businesses as little as possible.
The BVRLA Leasing Broker audit programme has been running since May 2018 and since then over 300 broker member organisations have welcomed the association’s inspection teams. The BVRLA has now developed remote inspection capability which will allow for the inspection to take place digitally, which should make it much more convenient, as it will not be a requirement that somebody must be at the premises to meet the inspector.
If you have any questions about the BVRLA Audit Programme, you can contact the Compliance Team.
More information on How we audit our members and how to prepare for your visit can be found on the BVRLA website.
