The BVRLA’s 2023 Leasing Broker and Rental Inspection Programmes will soon begin.
Here are some of the top trends and feedback from the 2022 programmes:
Most failed areas - Rental:
- Ensuring data input into the vehicle is removed before the vehicle is returned - Rental members should ask customers to remove any of their personal data that may have been inputted into the vehicle and they should check that this has been completed prior to the vehicle being returned.
- Branch awareness of RVSS campaign literature and where it is kept Compliance update: Rental Vehicle Security Scheme.
Most failed areas - Leasing Broker:
- Ensuring that Brokers have the correct compliance procedures in place, and that they are up to date - where Brokers are uncertain which procedures apply to their firm they may wish to consult Guidance to support members with FCA-compliance.
- Compliant complaints procedures and correct implementation of them - members should ensure that they are compliant with the FCA DISP rules BVRLA publishes ‘Complaints Factsheet’ to support compliance.
